The Liv-ex 100 Fine Wine Index fell back 3.7% in September, down just under ten points to 253.0. This brings the year to date change down to 5.5% and the year-on-year change to 4.64%.

With September arguably the most tumultuous month in the financial markets since 1929 -with bankruptcy following merger following nationalisation – the performance of the Liv-ex 100 can be seen as relatively robust when compared to that of the equities indices.

Below we have compared the year-to-date  (Ytd) performance of the the four main Liv-ex Indices (find more information here) with the main share indices from the UK, US Japan and Germany (all values take at the close of business on 30th September).
