Beaucastel, Hommage J Perrin 2015 has been released at €235 per bottle ex-negociant, up 9.3% on the 2014 release (€215). It is being offered by the international trade at £2,960 per 12×75, an increase of 20.8% on the 2014 in sterling terms (£2,450).
The Wine Advocate’s Jeb Dunnuck awarded this year’s release 97-99 points. He described the wine as “clearly one of the most impressive barrel samples [he] tasted from the vintage.”
Prices for Beaucastel, Hommage J Perrin are 68.4% correlated to Wine Advocate score. Based on today’s release of £2,960 per 12×75, Liv-ex’s ‘fair value’ methodology places the 2015 just above the trend line.
Buyers looking for value, therefore, might consider the 99-point 2012 vintage. The wine has an additional three years in bottle and is available at a 10.5% discount to the 2015.
