Pol Roger Sir Winston Churchill 2006 has been released in the UK at £1,200 per 12×75.
Jancis Robinson is the only major critic to score the wine. She described the 2006 as “round and magnificent” and awarded it 18.5 points, making it one of her third highest scoring Sir Winston Churchills.
Like the Dom Perignon 2009 release on Monday, today’s release has come to the market at a similar level as recent vintages. Vintages from the 1990s, with diminishing volumes available, trade at a decent premium to today’s release.
The exception is the 1999 vintage, which would seem to present relative value.
